That link is of pictures of types of makeups for seussical the mussical. I was in seussical here at H.L.T. and I know that the hair and makeup for this show is absoulutly crazy. Many of the characters are farfetched and funny so that makes the makeup very crazy. I think makeup will play a huge part in this play because I think it will make people look more chinese or make them look meaner or scarier. I think that this play will use much makeup and I hope it looks great.
I agree with you about the whole thing of Seussical having crazy make-up. And we will need a whole lot of it to make us look Asian. Not to mention making me look old and Glenn look scary, among other characters. Also characters like the brides and the soldiers need to look specific, so they will all need coordinating make-up, so none of them stand out unnecessarily.
ReplyDeleteSeussical does use a lot of crazy makeup. I've seen the picture of it at HLT and the only one without crazy makeup on was you. The people on the website you gave have some very wild makeup too. Makeup will definatly play a large role in our play. Some people have to look scary like the Huns, and others have to look old. All of us will have to look somewhat Asian.
ReplyDeleteI think so too. I was going to do my post on Seussical but I chose Beauty and the Beast instead. Yes we will need lots and lots of make-up. It will definetly make us look more Asian!
ReplyDeleteYea your right make up does make a huge difference in a performance and if there was no make up characters wouldnt fit plays as well.

ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed looking at the shots of their Seussical production. It's always interesting to compare productions. I found myself checking out their tech set-up...I love the shot from the lighting boards and their thrust stage!
